Country Coordinator – Burkina Faso (Sahel Region)

About the role

The Country Coordinator will lead IFDC’s program implementation in Burkina Faso, ensuring that activities align with the overall vision and strategic objectives of the Sahel Region program. This role works closely with consortium partners, donors, and local stakeholders to deliver measurable results for smallholder farmers.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure in‑country program activities follow the overall program vision and leadership direction.
• Support program leadership and consortium partners in building and managing a strong implementation team.
• Create and maintain effective relationships with implementing partners and coordinate synergy with related projects.
• Represent the program at meetings, conferences, and public events to promote achievements.
• Lead or participate in regular project management meetings with consortium members and donor embassy representatives.
• Monitor compliance with national sector strategies, policies, and donor requirements.
• Track overall expenditure, private‑sector contributions, and ensure financial compliance with IFDC procedures.
• Supervise timely preparation of work plans, progress reports, and financial statements.
• Organize monthly cash‑flow forecasts and request advance funds as needed.
• Monitor project indicators, evaluate results, and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with IFDC leadership to ensure administrative and financial procedures meet contract provisions.
• Maintain a desirable budget burn rate and perform other duties assigned by IFDC leadership.

Required profile

• Proven experience in program coordination and implementation in an international development context.
• Strong ability to build and manage multi‑partner teams and foster collaborative relationships.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, including representation at high‑level meetings and conferences.
• Solid understanding of national sector strategies, donor compliance, and financial monitoring.
• Demonstrated capacity to prepare high‑quality work plans, progress reports, and financial documentation.
• Ability to monitor performance indicators and take corrective actions to achieve results.
