Warehouse & Inventory Superintendent

About the role

The Warehouse & Inventory Superintendent will act as the bridge between Procurement and the Warehouse, overseeing daily warehouse operations and supporting the Supply Chain Manager in procurement and contract activities. This senior role ensures efficient inventory management, compliance with safety and environmental policies, and smooth material flow for a mining operation.

Key responsibilities

• Define and enforce procedures for receipt, issue, and all warehouse transactions across multiple storage locations.
• Implement and monitor systems that accurately record all inventory movements.
• Secure stored goods and manage non‑conforming shipments according to established procedures.
• Oversee bulk commodity and fuel handling, ensuring accurate issuing, receiving, and timely deliveries.
• Maintain proper storage conditions for reagents, empty containers, and other inventory items.
• Monitor inventory levels using manual and computerized systems, trigger stock replenishment, and identify obsolete items.
• Update catalogue data in the ERP system and dispose of surplus or obsolete materials per policy.
• Collaborate with the Procurement Superintendent and planners to define demand‑management rules, reduce lead times, and achieve cost reductions.

Required profile

• Proven experience in planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating warehouse and inventory operations.
• Strong knowledge of safety, environmental, and procedural compliance in a mining or industrial setting.
• Ability to work closely with procurement, engineering, and operational teams.
• Excellent analytical skills for inventory control and cost‑reduction initiatives.
