Travel Consultant

About the role

Thomson Safaris, a travel company with more than 45 years of history, is looking for a dynamic Travel Consultant. You will work directly with guests, managing their travel arrangements, helping them prepare for their trip and ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience. The role is full-time, with a hybrid schedule of three days in the office and two days remote.

Key responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service with a friendly, helpful demeanor at all times
• Reply to all inquiries promptly by phone or email and follow up on them
• Give expert advice on pre-travel preparation, including visas, flights, packing, budgeting and general expectations
• Manage bookings and keep accurate records of communications, payments and follow-up actions
• Manage communications and confirmations with ground operators
• Become an expert in the destinations offered by studying provided materials and taking notes during one-on-one training sessions
• Resolve issues or complaints professionally, seeking manager assistance when needed

Required profile

• Proven customer service experience or a natural skill for diplomacy
• Good common sense to handle logistics so everything runs smoothly
• Exceptional attention to detail and excellent follow-through
• Excellent communication skills focused on building rapport with clients
• Ability to multitask, prioritize workload and work well under pressure
• A passion for helping people get excited about travel
