Senior Finance Associate

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a Senior Finance Associate to join its finance team in Ouagadougou. Reporting to a Finance Officer (level 2), the incumbent will ensure accurate, timely financial operations in line with UNICEF rules and regulations, while identifying and recommending process improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Provide support and oversight to transactional teams.
• Enable informed decision‑making through accurate financial reporting.
• Drive process improvement and stakeholder management.
• Support system enhancement and user acceptance testing.
• Research, adapt, and evaluate irregular cases and recommend improvements.

Required profile

• Minimum secondary education in Accounting, Finance or related fields; a university degree may replace up to three years of experience.
• At least 7 years of relevant finance and accounting experience.
• Proficient knowledge of French; additional UN language or local language is a plus.
• Experience in shared services, fragile or humanitarian settings is desirable.
