Remote Software Test Engineer

About the role

Scopic is looking for a remote Software Test Engineer, a full-time QA professional who enjoys both manual testing and building the tools that catch bugs automatically. The role suits someone experienced in manual and automated testing, comfortable with exploratory, hands-on testing as well as writing automation scripts. It is an hourly-paid position for contractors, paid monthly via wire transfer.

Key responsibilities

• Perform manual and exploratory testing, especially on new features and edge cases
• Design and run functional, regression and API test plans for web and application projects
• Build and maintain automated test scripts with Playwright, Selenium or Cypress, in Python or JavaScript/TypeScript
• Run API tests with tools such as Postman alongside code-based approaches
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and work with developers on Git workflows
• Document test cases, defects and QA processes
• Test AI-driven features and AI-integrated systems
• Collaborate with distributed global teams to find and fix issues early

Required profile

• 4+ years of professional QA experience, with hands-on manual and automated testing
• Ability to design and run functional, regression and API tests with both tools and code
• Strong analytical, documentation and problem-solving skills
• Curiosity about AI technologies and willingness to test AI-driven applications
• Effective English and comfort working in distributed global teams
