Regional IT Manager

About the role

Wave is building a cashless Africa and needs a Regional IT Manager to oversee IT operations across several West African countries, including Ivory Coast, Mali and Burkina Faso. You will ensure that the IT infrastructure is reliable, secure and aligned with the company’s rapid growth, providing the tools employees need to work efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Own IT operations across multiple countries, guaranteeing 99.9% uptime for services, hardware and core tools.
• Act as the primary escalation point for country‑level IT issues, coordinating with local staff and external vendors.
• Ensure all employees have access to required tools and equipment.
• Develop and maintain playbooks, policies and documentation to standardise IT processes across locations.
• Enforce adherence to onboarding, offboarding, infrastructure configuration, asset management and information security policies.
• Partner with the Information Security team to implement and adapt security policies to each country’s operational realities.
• Advise IT and leadership on regional nuances such as purchasing constraints, network infrastructure and local regulations.
• Identify resourcing gaps and drive hiring decisions for regional IT roles.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing IT operations across multiple locations or countries.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to coordinate with diverse teams and vendors.
• Excellent communication skills to convey technical information to non‑technical stakeholders.
• Knowledge of information security best practices and ability to adapt policies to local contexts.
