Advisory Sales Engineer – Strategic AI

About the role

DataDirect Networks (DDN) is seeking an Advisory Sales Engineer to drive the adoption of its AI‑focused storage solutions. You will work with customers across finance, life sciences, academia and autonomous systems, translating complex data challenges into high‑performance storage architectures that enable AI model training, real‑time analytics and HPC workloads.

Key responsibilities

• Engage with customers to understand critical data workloads such as high‑frequency trading, genomics processing, AI model training and sensor‑fusion for autonomous vehicles.
• Design scalable, secure storage solutions that integrate with GPU clusters, Kubernetes, cloud platforms and AI frameworks.
• Create detailed bill‑of‑materials, system architectures and technical proposals for RFPs.
• Conduct live demonstrations, proof‑of‑concepts and performance benchmarking to showcase solution value.
• Serve as a trusted technical advisor throughout the sales cycle, from initial discovery to post‑sale support.

Required profile

• Proven experience in solution architecture or sales engineering for AI, HPC or data‑intensive environments.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into business value.
• Track record of influencing enterprise customers and closing complex technical sales.
