Country Coordinator – Burkina Faso (Sahel Region)

About the role

The International Fertilizer Development Center (IFDC) seeks a Country Coordinator to lead its Sahel Region program in Burkina Faso. The coordinator will align implementation activities with IFDC’s vision, foster partnerships, and ensure the program delivers measurable impact for smallholder farmers.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure program activities in Burkina Faso follow the overall program vision and leadership direction.
• Support consortium partners and build a strong in‑country implementation team with a clear results‑driven strategy.
• Maintain effective relationships with implementing partners, leveraging synergies across projects.
• Represent IFDC at meetings, conferences, and public events to promote program achievements.
• Lead regular project management meetings with consortium members and donor embassy representatives.
• Monitor compliance with national sector strategies, policies, and donor requirements.
• Track overall expenditure, private‑sector contributions, and ensure financial compliance.
• Oversee timely preparation of work plans, progress, and financial reports.
• Manage monthly cash‑flow needs and submit advance fund requests.
• Monitor project indicators, evaluate results, and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Collaborate with IFDC leadership to ensure administrative and financial procedures meet contract provisions.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing development programs in the Sahel or similar contexts.
• Strong ability to build and lead multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Demonstrated capacity to work with donors, governments, and private‑sector partners.
