Site Manager – Heavy Lift & Rigging Operations

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Site Manager to lead heavy‑lift and complex rigging activities on a major infrastructure/energy project in Burkina Faso. The role ensures that all lifting operations are carried out safely, on schedule, and to the required quality standards while coordinating local teams and international stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all on‑site activities related to heavy‑lift operations, ensuring alignment with the project schedule, quality, and safety requirements.
• Act as the primary on‑site contact for contractors, clients, and subcontractors, managing daily logistics and resources.
• Review, approve and supervise lifting plans, method statements, and risk assessments for complex lifts involving cranes, specialised transport and rigging systems.
• Enforce HSE policies, conduct toolbox talks, site inspections, safety audits and lead incident investigations.
• Manage and coordinate the local workforce, supervisors and subcontractors, providing technical guidance and fostering a strong safety culture.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing heavy‑lift and rigging operations on large‑scale construction or energy projects.
• Strong knowledge of local regulations and international HSE standards.
• Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and liaise with international stakeholders.
• Excellent organizational and problem‑solving skills with a focus on safety and quality.
