Senior Finance Specialist

About the role

PalmPay, a leading fintech in emerging markets, is looking for a Senior Finance Specialist to lead financial operations, reporting, compliance and strategic planning for its Burkina Faso unit. The role demands strong analytical abilities and attention to detail to ensure accurate financial management and support business growth.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.
• Analyze financial performance, monitor key metrics and provide actionable insights.
• Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts and variance analysis.
• Support strategic planning with financial modeling and scenario analysis.
• Oversee day‑to‑day accounting, reconciliations and ledger management.
• Maintain financial controls and ensure compliance with local tax laws and regulations.
• Prepare and submit tax filings and support internal/external audits.
• Monitor cash flow, manage banking relationships and optimize working capital.
• Track operational costs, identify cost‑saving opportunities and drive financial discipline.
• Collaborate with Operations, Sales, HR and Procurement to provide financial insights for initiatives and expansion projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field.
• 5–8 years of finance or accounting experience, preferably in fintech or banking.
• Professional certification such as ACCA, ICAN or CFA is highly preferred.
• Strong analytical and financial modeling capabilities.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
