Senior Superintendent, Tech & Machinery

About the role

Royal Caribbean Group is seeking a Senior Superintendent for Technology & Machinery to lead the development and implementation of machinery guidelines across new cruise ship projects. The role combines technical expertise with project supervision, working closely with in‑house teams, architects, and external consultants.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and apply advancements in technology and emission‑control systems for cruise vessels.
• Develop energy‑saving measures, system performance improvements, and life‑cycle cost (LCC) procedures.
• Coordinate meetings with equipment makers and system designers, ensuring compliance with maritime regulations.
• Produce studies, recommendations, and advanced reports on equipment and design solutions.
• Participate in new‑build (NB) drawing approvals, factory acceptance tests (FAT), and quay/sea‑trial procedures.
• Conduct daily onboard inspections, safety assessments, and maintain accurate inspection records for monthly construction status reports.
• Lead equipment inspections at supplier sites in France and abroad during the building process.

Required profile

• Extensive shipbuilding experience, particularly in new‑build site surveys.
• Ability to manage multiple projects under tight schedules.
• Motivation to work both ashore and in multicultural environments.
• Relevant engineering education (Chief Engineer, Mechanical Engineering or similar) with at least 5 years of marine operations experience.
• Fluent written and spoken English; additional languages are a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Excel.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD.
