Senior Finance Associate

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a Senior Finance Associate to join its finance team in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. The role supports the implementation of UNICEF’s financial policies and contributes to the efficient management of resources that fund programmes for children.

Key responsibilities

• Provide support and oversight to transactional teams handling payments, reimbursements and other financial operations.
• Enable informed decision‑making by preparing accurate financial reports and analyses.
• Drive process improvement initiatives and recommend enhancements to existing finance procedures.
• Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with UNICEF financial rules.
• Support system enhancements and contribute to the development of finance tools.

Required profile

• Completion of secondary education with professional or university‑level courses in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.
• Bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution.
• Demonstrated experience in finance functions, preferably in an international or development context.
• Ability to research, adapt and evaluate irregular cases and propose corrective actions.
