Risk Analyst

About the role

We are looking for a Risk Analyst to join our globally distributed team. The role focuses on identifying, assessing and mitigating operational, financial and reputational risks across our platform, ensuring a secure experience for users while supporting business growth.

Key responsibilities

• Continuously monitor platform data to detect emerging threats such as payment fraud, account takeovers, spam, phishing and synthetic identity networks.
• Query large datasets using SQL and Python (or R) to uncover attack vectors and quantify the impact of abusive behavior.
• Design, implement and fine‑tune rules, models and automated workflows that prevent fraudulent or high‑risk activity with minimal friction for legitimate users.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Product, Finance and Legal teams to embed risk controls throughout the product lifecycle and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
• Act as a primary responder during high‑severity incidents, making rapid decisions to contain losses while preserving user trust.
• Build and maintain dashboards and reports that track key risk indicators and evaluate the effectiveness of mitigation strategies.
• Provide feedback on internal risk tools and work with engineers to enhance detection capabilities and automate manual reviews.
• Assist in evaluating and integrating third‑party risk intelligence providers.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in risk analysis, fraud intelligence, trust & safety analytics or financial crime investigations within tech, e‑commerce or fintech.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to turn raw, messy data into actionable insights.
• Proven ability to make quick, high‑stakes decisions during active incidents.
• Excellent communication skills for presenting technical findings to non‑technical stakeholders, including executives and legal teams.
