IT Technician

About the role

We are looking for an IT Technician to join our IT Operations team supporting Wave’s growing presence across Africa. You will ensure employees have reliable hardware, software and connectivity, and act as the senior point of contact for on‑site technical issues.

Key responsibilities

• Provide face‑to‑face and ticket‑based end‑user support, handling complex requests.
• Manage ticket queues, maintain SLA compliance and act as an escalation point for L1 technicians.
• Identify recurring issues, propose service improvements and coordinate with vendors.
• Deploy, configure, recover and troubleshoot employee and office hardware while keeping the asset register accurate.
• Maintain hardware deployment, inventory and asset‑management processes in line with company standards.
• Prepare and hand over hardware that meets Wave’s security configurations.
• Support and troubleshoot local network connectivity and overall infrastructure.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an IT technician or similar support role.
• Strong customer‑service orientation and ability to work independently.
• Operational discipline, sound judgment and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and contribute to small projects.
