Country Director – Burkina Faso

About the role

MAG is seeking a Country Director to provide strategic leadership and represent the organisation in Burkina Faso. The post holder will be accountable to MAG UK for delivering, managing, monitoring and evaluating the country programme, ensuring its relevance, quality and consistency.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement policies and procedures to design, deliver, monitor and evaluate programme activities.
• Lead the Senior Management Team in creating annual business plans and track progress against objectives.
• Contribute to MAG’s Global Leadership Team, upholding organisational standards and supporting the global strategy.
• Oversee contract and financial management, ensuring robust financial policies and procedures.
• Manage partnerships with the National Commission on Small Arms and Light Weapons (CNLPAL/CNCA) and other stakeholders.
• Guide capacity‑building initiatives in weapons and ammunition management, including infrastructure development, training and technical support.

Required profile

• Must hold a Burkinabè passport.
• Proven senior leadership experience in humanitarian, security or arms‑control programmes.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multi‑disciplinary teams and large‑scale budgets.
• Strong understanding of small arms, light weapons and ammunition management frameworks.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
