Managing Director (MD) – Burkina Faso

About the role

The Managing Director (MD) for Burkina Faso will lead PalmPay’s operations, driving sustainable growth, operational excellence and regulatory compliance across the market. Reporting to the Board, the MD will shape the strategic agenda, expand market share and deliver superior value to customers, investors and stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute PalmPay’s growth strategy, identifying new territories, partnerships and revenue opportunities.
• Oversee end‑to‑end business operations, ensuring efficiency, compliance and high customer satisfaction.
• Deliver financial performance in line with Board expectations, managing budgeting, capital allocation and P&L.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with governments, regulators, financial institutions and industry associations.
• Represent PalmPay externally, strengthening brand and reputation.
• Lead, inspire and develop a world‑class management team, fostering a culture of accountability, diversity and inclusion.

Required profile

• Fluent in English (oral and written).
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics or related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree strongly preferred.
• 18+ years of progressive leadership experience, including at least 10 years in CEO, MD or senior executive roles within fintech, banking, telecommunications or multinational corporations.
• Proven track record scaling high‑growth businesses in emerging markets.
• Deep knowledge of financial services, digital banking, payments and fintech ecosystems.
• Strong commercial acumen and expertise in business development.
