Deli Assistant

About the role

The Deli Assistant is responsible for preparing high‑quality hot and cold deli products while ensuring that customer satisfaction remains the top priority. You will work in a fast‑paced retail environment, supporting shoppers with fresh‑food selections and sharing your passion for food.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare customer orders across all fresh‑food areas, including making sandwiches, rolling items, and serving hot dishes.
• Slice meats and use portion‑control measures according to store standards.
• Cook, prepare, and display deli items throughout the day, maintaining attractive and hygienic counters.
• Keep all fresh‑food displays at the highest standards at all times.
• Share product knowledge, recipes, and personal recommendations with customers.
• Handle customer queries efficiently, professionally, and in line with store policy.

Required profile

• Excellent communication skills.
• Previous customer‑service experience is an advantage.
• Ability to work as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment and multitask under pressure.
• A genuine passion for food and the ability to inspire shoppers.
• HACCP training is desirable but not mandatory.
