Country Coordinator – Burkina Faso (Sahel Region)

About the role

The Country Coordinator will lead IFDC's program implementation in Burkina Faso, ensuring alignment with the overall vision and delivering results in the Sahel region.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure program activities align with the overall vision and leadership.
• Support consortium partners to build and manage a strong implementation team.
• Create and maintain relationships with implementing partners and ensure synergy.
• Represent the program in meetings, conferences and public forums.
• Lead regular project management meetings with consortium members and donor representatives.
• Monitor project expenditures, budgets and financial compliance.
• Supervise timely completion of work plans, progress and financial reports.
• Organize monthly cash flow needs and request advance funds.
• Monitor project indicators, evaluate results and take corrective actions.
• Ensure managerial, administrative and financial procedures comply with contract provisions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Seed Science, Soil Science, Agricultural Economics, International Development or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of hands‑on experience in the seed sector and agricultural development, with significant experience in West Africa.
• Proven record in seed sector management and strong knowledge of international and local stakeholders.
• Established relationships with research institutions, farmer organizations and public/private sector actors.
• Fluent in French and English with excellent communication skills.
