Communication Assistant Internship

About the role

The United Nations Information Centre (UNIC) in Ouagadougou is part of the Strategic Communications Division, tasked with sharing the UN story in local languages and fostering public understanding of UN activities. This internship offers a hands‑on opportunity to support the centre’s outreach to media, educational institutions, governments, civil society and the private sector. You will work under the supervision of a responsible UNIC official, gaining exposure to the UN’s global communications network.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in monitoring messages on United Nations platforms.
• Support the media analysis and monitoring process.
• Perform any other tasks requiring assistance as assigned by the UNIC team.

Required profile

• Enrolled in or completed a graduate programme, or in the final academic year of a bachelor’s degree.
• Fluency in French; English is also a working language of the UN.
• Knowledge of an additional official UN language is desirable.
