Chief Field Office (P-3) – Fada-N'Gourma, Burkina Faso

About the role

The Chief Field Office (CFO) leads UNICEF’s field operations in the Fada-N'Gourma area, covering four regions in eastern Burkina Faso. Reporting to the Chief Field Operations, the CFO ensures that programme interventions reach the most vulnerable children, especially in health, nutrition, WASH, education and protection.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic oversight and coordination of multisectoral health and humanitarian programmes across the assigned regions.
• Represent UNICEF to government, partners and communities, advocating for child rights and service delivery.
• Manage and supervise programme and operational teams to achieve quality results aligned with the Country Programme.
• Ensure integration of health interventions with nutrition, WASH, education and child protection activities.
• Monitor security, humanitarian, and public‑health risks and lead emergency preparedness and response.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in leading large‑scale health or public‑health programmes in fragile or humanitarian contexts.
• Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of UNICEF’s mandate, child protection, and development frameworks.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with fluency in English (additional languages a plus).
