Bambara Language Specialist (Remote, $40-$95/hr)

About the role

We are seeking a native or near‑native Bambara speaker to join our remote team as a Language Specialist. In this role you will apply your linguistic expertise to translate, edit, and improve Bambara language data that supports AI language models and related projects.

Key responsibilities

• Translate content to and from Bambara with high accuracy and cultural relevance.
• Edit and proofread Bambara language datasets to ensure consistency and quality.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to annotate, evaluate, and enhance language resources.
• Develop and review glossaries, linguistic resources, and written materials.
• Provide insights on Bambara idioms, nuances, and cultural context.
• Contribute to the improvement of AI language models through linguistic feedback.
• Deliver tasks on schedule while meeting defined quality standards.

Required profile

• Native or near‑native proficiency in Bambara, both written and verbal.
• Strong experience in translation, editing, or other linguistic work.
• Ability to translate complex concepts accurately and fluently.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to linguistic accuracy.
• Familiarity with language data or AI‑related tools and platforms.
• Self‑motivated and able to work independently in a remote environment.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
